The Truth About Music

"What's hot, what's not, and whats next in pop music"

Harris' Song of the Week: Harlem by New Politics

Hailing from Denmark, New Politics are back after a three year layoff. In that time, they have refined their sound, now emanating more Brooklyn indie rock instead of the chaotic blend that was featured in 2010′s “Yeah Yeah Yeah.”

This time around, they are hitting the road with their new single “Harlem.” Once again shot in New York City, this song demonstrates what New Politics could be. It is just the right blend of a catchy pop song and well constructed alternative anthem.

The band got a great reaction from a sold out Terminal 5 crowd, opening for Fall Out Boy in their one night event last week. Clearly people are starting to relate to the song and it will be interesting to see if this band can keep the fire burning with this perfect summer song.
