The Truth About Music

"What's hot, what's not, and whats next in pop music"

Exclusive: The Crookes Bring British Charm Stateside

Rarely does a band leave an impact like The Crookes. An indie pop outfit from England, The Crookes combine classic good looks, British charm and sweet pop hooks into one hell of a musical package. When we met The Crookes we weren’t sure what to expect. While we had a location picked out to film our interview, the band decided collectively that a scavenger hunt was in order.

Taking the lead, the band led us on a tour of Austin, finally deciding to shoot near a riverbed that would be described during the interview as “disgusting” by lead singer George Waite. The¬†eccentric¬†singer joined bandmates Russell Bates, Daniel Hopewell and Tom Dakin as they performed “The Cooler King.” With a style that can only be described as fun, you are instantly intrigued by the upbeat nature of these UK rock stars.
