2013 SXSW Alphabet: 26 Bands We Can't Wait To See At SXSW (M-P)

Each and every year, South by Southwest is a launching pad for new music. From John Mayer to Marina and the Diamonds, the festival has a knack for producing big name stars. As The Truth About Music prepares to cover the event for the fourth consecutive year, we’re excited to travel through the alphabet and pick 26 bands that we can’t wait to see at SXSW 2013. Enjoy!

M is for Manic Sheep: Formed in Taipei, this trio creates a sound that is both easy and difficult to listen to. It”s a sound that is very tough to describe but something we”re interested in hearing live. Also, it should be noted that despite the all-Asian lineup, the songs are written in English.

N is for New Beat Fund: With song names like “Free Cokaine” and “Scare Me,” New Beat

Fund are a party band through and through. Part Beastie Boys and part Blink 182 they have a sound that you won”t find anywhere else on this list. It might not always be politically correct but we”re guessing this will be one fun show.

O is for The Orban”s: This is what is fantastic about SXSW. There are so many bands that there”s no way to see even a fraction of them each year. For some reason The Orban”s caught our eye this year. A quick YouTube searched revealed an awesome video that was originally featured as a part of SXSW 2011. Check it out below.

P is for The Pass: First off, I can”t even fathom how long it must have taken The Pass to shoot the music video for “Without Warning” (see below). Video aside, this bands sound is very

upbeat and each song is a little more exciting than the one before it. Definitely the kind of band that you come to Austin to see…even though they”re from Louisville, KY.
