2013 SXSW Alphabet: 26 Bands We Can't Wait To See At SXSW (A-D)

Each and every year, South by Southwest is a launching pad for new music.

From John Mayer to Marina and the Diamonds, the festival has a knack for producing big name stars. As The Truth About Music prepares to cover the event for the fourth consecutive year, we’re excited to travel through the alphabet and pick 26 bands

that we can’t wait to see at SXSW 2013. Enjoy!

A is for Alison Wonderland: With a background in classical music, Alison Wonderland is one of Australia”s hottest DJ”s. Bringing her talents to Austin, her sets are sure to be energy packed and lots of fun.

B is for The Black And White Years: Austin natives, The Black and White Years combine electronic sounds with a steady variety of riff happy guitar and psychedelic vocals. With the right song, this band could easily hit it big.

C is for The Crookes: The letter “C” led us to not only our favorite band so far in previewing SXSW 2013 but a very close second. The Crookes are from England where there music is already making the rounds. You”ll understand as soon as the chorus of the song below hits. They are destined to be a huge hit this year. Cheers Elephant was a very close 2nd for this letter.

D is for Driver Friendly: While their music is great, what eventually sold us was the music video for the song “Messidona.” The entire song is a tribute to Tom Hanks” acting career and the music is rock solid to boot.
