Harris' Song of the Week: Change by Churchhill

First off, it has been way, way too long since my last song of the week, a Thursday tradition for the blogs first 4 years. 2013 is here and it”s time for a change. That means more posts, more music and more free stuff from The Truth About Music (cue plug for the mailing list signup to your right).

This weeks song of the week comes from a band that the world is meeting for the first time. Although the band has been around for a few years now, there song “Change” is starting to garner some attention from the pop world.

A song that mixes two amazingly popular genres as we enter 2013, it features a folk element, with duel vocals by Tim Bruns, the bands co-founder and keyboard player Bethany Kelly. Layered on top of this smooth vocal duet is an electronic element. You wouldn”t mix this song up with a remix by Skrillex but you could easily draw a comparison to Passion Pit or Foxy Shazam.

The song is excellent. The video is interesting.

We”ll let you take a listen for yourself below and let us know what you think. Does the over the top artsy style of video match the songs fierce pop line? Leave a comment below and let us know.
