The Truth About Music

"What's hot, what's not, and whats next in pop music"

Harris’ Song of the Week: “Jump Into The Fog” by The Wombats

America. I’d like to introduce you to The Wombats. It’s not going out on a limb to assume that the Top 40 music scene in the United States has never heard of The Wombats. If that is the case, it is our pleasure to make this introduction. A band with a large history oversees, The Wombats hail from Liverpool, England and have an infectious sound.

Truth About Music faithful might remember that we named their U.S. debut album “A Guide To Love, Loss and Desperation” our Album of the Month back in January of 2010. Now, just over two years later, the band is back and planning big things for 2012. After a very moderate showing for “AGTLLD” their 2011 release “This Modern Glitch” is off to a fast start.

This start can be attributed to the albums lead single. A dynamite anthem, “Jump Into The Fog” is as catchy as it is musical. If the first few vocal notes from Matthew Murphy don’t melt your musical heart, you should see a doctor. It’s a simply perfect song and it doesn’t feel too early to call it one of the top songs of 2012. Enjoy the video below (Warning: video is pretty epic).
