The Truth About Music

"What's hot, what's not, and whats next in pop music"

Harris’ Song of the Week: Barbra Streisand by Duck Sauce

I’m assuming that my punishment for this post will result in tar and feathering, stoning with a finale of hanging from the neck until dead. I’m going to go out on a limb and admit that the onslaught of lyricless songs has finally begun to effect me. While I’m not a huge fan of this movement overall, certain songs like this one really get through to me.

Something about the melody and production of a song being so good that it eliminates the need for lyrics is truly fascinating. Even more impressive than the song is the music video which features famous MC’s, Barbra look a likes and regular people from the streets of New York. It is something to be in aw of as a song with only one true lyric, having nothing to do with New York (aside from her living there nearly her entire life), really shows the spirit of the greatest city in the world.
