The Truth About Music

Harris’ Song of the Week: “Magic” by B.o.B. feat. Rivers Cuomo

It’s been a while and it feels great to be back blogging. I thought no better place to start the comeback than with the third single from B.o.B.’s debut album “The Adventures of Bobby Ray.” Over the month of June, this album has made its case to be the most celebrated debut in recent history. From his debut song “Nothin On You” which featured Bruno Mars to his chart topping “Airplanes” featuring Paramores Hayley William’s, Bobby Ray is on a truly magical run.

Now with the release of single three, the hip hop artists shows his incredibly diverse style as Rivers Cuomo (lead singer of Weezer) provides the chorus in between some great rap runs by B.o.B. Although the chorus stands out in this song because of Cuomo’s amazing writing talent, this is B.o.B.’s true break into the rap world. Although his other two songs featured some solid rhyming, he really shines during the three minutes of “Magic.”
