Harris’ Top 110 Songs of the Decade (99-95)

Songs 99-95

99. On The Way Down, Ryan Cabrera (2004): As far as one hit wonders go this is one of the best. After his relationship with Ashley Simpson fizzled, his career was soon to follow. Luckily before the plunge Cabrera gave us one really good song which featured the aforementioned girlfriend in the music video.
98. You Raise Me Up, Josh Groban (2002): I’m a total sucker for amazing, over the top vocals and therefore we are left with Groban. I’ve been caught so many times (and agreed with by others) thinking that this song belongs in a classic Disney movie. The Andrea Bocelli of our generation, Groban demonstrates in this song that a piece of classical music can be pop.
97. My Sacrifice, Creed (2001): The second christian group/singer in a row, Creed made a name for themselves singing epic anthems. Song #97 on the countdown is just that providing us with powerful vocals and a heavy guitar track.
96. Genesis, Justice (2007): How often does a techno song with no lyrics make a top anything countdown? Almost never. This song from techno and electronic group Justice is one the best songs in that category you will ever here. Creating amazing music from sounds and rhythms this song tells an entire story without ever uttering a word.

95. Stacy’s Mom, Fountains of Wayne (2003): Another one hit wonder from this decade, Fountains of Wayne will forever perform at colleges and in nightclubs and be heckled to perform this classic song from the decade. Reaching #1 on TRL’s top video countdown (yes TRL was still around in this decade) the songs music video featured model Rachel Hunter as “Stacy’s” attractive “mom.”
