The Truth About Music

"What's hot, what's not, and whats next in pop music"

Harris’ Song of the Week: Wanna Be Startin’ Somthin’ by Michael Jackson

Of course the week I go see “This Is It” my song of the week would come from the king of pop. Directly after I saw the movie I went to Best Buy and picked up two albums that I was long overdue for; “Thriller” and “Off the Wall.” Of course I know the singles but it’s the rest of the album that makes these amazing to listen to.

“Thriller” an album known for three of the best singles of all time (played back to back to back) has a lot more packing than the big three. Outside of “Billie Jean” “Thriller” and “Beat It” are a boat load of other fun tracks. The fourth most known song from the album is my song of the week. It combines an extremely rhythmic melody with a super catchy hook.
I feel as if many people don’t know where “ma ma se, ma ma sa” comes from and it’s the end of this track. Leading off one of the greatest albums of all time, this song helps set the stage for the next hour of your listening life. In the unlikely event you haven’t heard the song, check it out on YouTube immediately.

And he was an amazingly gifted performer. The jury still out on whether he did anything wrong, Michael Jackson provided some of the best music of the past 30 years. Gotta love anonymous comments…

Just because he can sing and dance doesn't give him access into little kids pants.
