The Truth About Music

"What's hot, what's not, and whats next in pop music"

Lyrics of the Moment: Water Buffaloes

Since the album was released I have always pondered track one off of Folie A Deux, Fall Out Boys, fourth studio album. The track is called ‘Disloyal Order of the Water Buffaloes.’ During the chorus, Patrick Stump sings:

“Perfect boys with their perfect lives, no body wants to hear you sing about tragedy.”

If I ever had the opportunity to interview Patrick, one of my first questions would be who that line was referencing. It is clearly an attack on another band, and one can only wonder if Metro Station fits the bill. Well think about it, and get back to me. Oh, and Patrick if your out there a response in the comments section would be lovely.

I don’t think they would attack a band they are touring with lol

Fall Out Boy has some pretty emo lyrics, as much as I love them to death, not sure they should be pointing fingers.

Maybe he’s making a note to himself that no one wants to listen to him sing emo songs, or he could be quoting what someone said to them in reference to their own music?

It does seem like he’s talking about another band tho…
