The Truth About Music

"What's hot, what's not, and whats next in pop music"

Harris’ Song of the Week: Save Me by Article 19

I hate to do this to you but this weeks song of the week is not available on iTunes or any other major distributed music source. If you email me I would be willing to send you the song and get your thoughts on it.

This weeks song is “Save Me,” by Article 19. For those of you who are not familiar with this band, they are an up and coming rock band from New Britain, CT. They recently played a show at the Hawks Nest, at the University of Hartford and their music is simply mesmerizing. Picture this, the lead singer looks like (and has the abilities) of Maroon 5′s Adam Levine, the lead guitarist uses effects such as Peter Framptons voice box, the drummer grooves like Cart Beuford of Dave Matthews band and the bassist keeps a solid back line, with killer vocals. Sound good to you?

If your thinking what I thought after hearing them, its wow. This band is as good as they sound on paper. They combine a very tight groove, with catchy lyrics and awesome solos. Lead singer Brett also plays piano helping add to the pop quality of this band.

The song “Save Me,” has been infecting my music library and has a play count of 10 (in a week) as this is written, with many more to come. This band has a shot of becoming the next big thing not only in Connecticut, but in the country. Look out for them as they grow, and definitely go see them if you can.

Also, although “Save Me,” is not on iTunes or Youtube, some of their other songs are available on Youtube.com. Check them out by searching “Article 19,” on Youtube. Let me know what you think of them as a whole.
