Harris’ Song of the Week: Bruised by Ben Folds

Songs of the week can come from all walks of life. This weeks comes from a recent concert I attended. Since seeing Ben Folds, see the review here: http://harristruth.blogspot.com/2008/10/ben-folds-rockin-city-oh-and-suburbs.html, I have been going crazy for him, and listening to him way to much.

His new album is great and all but this week, the song that has been stuck in my head the most was by far “Bruised,” off of the album “Supersunnyspeedgraphic, the LP.” This song is extremely catchy, combining guitar and piano in a way that only Ben Folds can. This is a great song to check out to introduce you to the style of Ben Folds.

My favorite line of this song is: “Went because you said you’d be there, a box of candy smoke in your hair, And I didn’t know and I didn’t care, but now I know…” Definitely check out some Ben Folds, especially if your into Elton John, or Billy Joel.

The only song I know by them is “One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces”, I think that is probably one of their way old songs.
