Day two was a very different experience from day one. Where day one saw a careless wandering in and out of venues, day two say a ferocious schedule set up by my evil boss (who happens to also be me). American Bang Bring Modern Classic Rock Style to Austin’s SXSW

Sitting inside the Billboard Bungalow, I am casually listening to a band that calls themselves American Bang. With a look very similar to The Darkness, these Nashville rockers have a classic but original style. Creating smooth but subtle hooks, the band has a fantastic on stage chemistry, each fitting into a role. There is the fun bassist, dancing guitarist (who can shred) and steady frontman with a huge voice. Drummer Neil Mason holds the whole thing together and it actually works. When I first heard them, I had a completely different image in my head. I thought of a bunch of older guys from England wearing beaten up t-shirts. Instead, we have a well dressed, youthful group from Nashville, who have finally brought some original sounds to my ears on day two at SXSW. Continue...
Twin Atlantic, The Law Interview Reactions From SXSW

I just got finished interviewing Twin Atlantic and The Law, two Scottish bands playing SXSW this year. The larger group, Twin Atlantic, is currently touring the United States in support of their first U.S. album, “Vivarium.” Both bands are touring in America for the first time and both arrived here just one week ago. Wrapping Up My First Day In Texas At SXSW

My feet hurt. My eyes are exhausted. Even with ear plugs in most of the day, my ears are ringing. All part of a day in the life at South By Southwest!! My first full day here in Texas was really great. It seemed like a never ending journey through music as bands were constantly performing (at clubs, bars, alleys and in the middle of the street), pitching themselves to you or trying to sell you things.
