The Truth About Tara

Tara Berkoski - Staff Writer

Tara Berkoski joined The Truth About Music in 2011. She covers concert reviews on Long Island, NY along with nearby locations. She also interviews musical acts passing through the area. She was always fascinated by music and radio for as far back as she can remember and began attending concerts as soon as her parents allowed. She was always “that girl” in the front row singing loudly, dancing wildly, snapping photos and enjoying every minute of it.

She graduated from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford in 2010 with a major in Performing Arts Management, minor in Business Administration and concentration in Publicity. While in college, Berkoski interned at Toad’s Place, a live music venue in New Haven, CT. She was co-founder of Bleeding Hartt (now known as Redtail Records), a school-wide record label focused on the development, production, distribution and booking of on-campus artists. She also co-founded an all-female a capella group, the uHarmonies. She was an active member of Campus Activities Team and worked on Spring Fling, an annual university-wide concert.

Along with contributing to The Truth About Music, Berkoski is an Account Coordinator at WordHampton, a hospitality public relations firm on the Eastern end of Long Island. She is also managing editor of the only website dedicated exclusively to information on restaurants and food on Long Island, Long Island Restaurant News. A native Hamptonite, she was raised in Water Mill, NY, where she currently resides. In addition to her passion for music, she is an avid online shopper, vegan animal lover and strategic blackjack gambler.
