Cut Copy Release ‘We Are Explorers’ Remix, Announce Tour Dates

To tide fans over until the North American leg of their international Free Your Mind tour, in support of their fourth album of the same name, begins,  Cut Copy have dropped Larry Gus’ remix of “We Are Explorers.” In Gus’ hands, the track becomes a hooky brew of offbeat samples and effects and warm, organic percussion. Married with Cut Copy’s trademark smooth, melodic vocals, the remix, intentionally or not, strikes the ears as an homage to, or better yet, a long lost tune from Pet Sounds-era Beach Boys. Listen to “We are Explorers (Larry Gus Remix)” HERE.

Cut Copy will kick off the North American leg of their tour March 19 in Nashville, Tennessee, followed by dates in D.C., New York, Montreal, San Diego and Los Angeles. Joining the band will be up and comer and Canadian artiste Jessy Lanza, whose 2013 debut Pull My Hair is a favorite of band member Dan Whitford, who described the album as “a fantastic example of left-field futuristic pop, fusing R&B with electronic production by Jeremy Greenspan. It’s beautiful, but also tough. So I’m really excited to see her perform it live when we tour together next month.”
