Confluence ‘The Line’

Collaborating in various musical incarnations for nearly a decade, quartet Confluence marry melodic math rock with vulnerable lyrics, as heard on their latest single “The Line.”

Blending angular arrangements and subtle, shifting grooves, the song is being released along with another new track “Awaiting.” According to the band, each of the singles share a running theme, that of time of transition.

“‘The Line’ was inspired by certain expectations put upon younger generations, expectations to follow a straight-and-narrow line and either learn a trade or go to college,” Gassman explains, “then transition immediately to a day-job grind because hard work is everything, and to succeed by any means necessary.”

Confluence are also planning a spring tour, with dates to be announced soon. Listen to “The Line” here.
