Prom Date 'X My Heart'

Bonding over a love of 80′s synthesizers, dance-infused rock and their shared Southern roots, Louisiana-based six-piece Prom Date combine their influences to create a darkly danceable brand of synth pop.

The group released their self-titled EP in February 2012 and played a few gigs across the South, including a performance at the SXSW festival in Austin. Now the band has dropped “X My Heart,” a track that perfectly blends their dance-rock style with new wave-era synths and effects that’d make for a killer mash up with The Human League’s “Don’t You Want Me.” However, what really drives the song is the strong emphasis on melody, and the three-part, alternating harmonies of male and female vocals.

Prom Date plan on touring through the rest of the year, and releasing their full-length debut album in early 2014. Listen to “X My Heart” here, and view the band’s upcoming live dates below.
