French Horn Rebellion Release “Dancing Out” Video, Announce Tour Dates

In you’re in need of a hit of 80′s awesomeness, awkward dancing, French horns and an old-fashioned boy-meets-girl love story, French Horn Rebellion’s latest video for “Dancing Out” has more than enough to give you your fix.

Starring a mustached ¬†protagonist (who IMO is a dead ringer for David Schwimmer in those Friends 80′s flashbacks)¬†who woos the object of his desire with–what else?–a French horn, the video’s Romeo and Juliet serve as stand ins for band member Robert Perlick-Molinari and Jody Watley, who along Young Empires, is featured on the song.

“Dancing Out,” marks French Horn Rebellion’s second collaboration with Watley, with both sides first coming together on the track “Cold Enough.” The brothers’ association with the singer, who scored a string of hits in the late 80′s and early 90′s, has influenced the sound of their recent singles, which they’ve coined New Jack Swing, a sly homage to the era in which Watley became a star.

“It’s a combination of the new jack swing Jody used to do and 50s and 60s pop. There’s a lot of rebel leather jacket influence, some Marlon Brando,” Robert told Billboard. French Horn Rebellion is planning to release additional collaborations with Ghost Beach, St. Lucia and HAERTS later this year. A compilation album for those singles will be released in early 2014. The duo also has a string of tour dates coming up. Check out the list of shows, and watch the video for “Dancing out” below.
