Nneka To Appear With Black Thought On BET’s 106 & Park, Perform at SXSW

Award-winning singer/songwriter Nneka will be appear on BET’s 106 & Park tomorrow alongside The Roots’ Black Thought and J. Period to perform “God Knows Why,” a cut from her latest album Soul Heavy.

The performance is the first in a string of gigs to promote the new album, a mix of reggae, hip hop, and African pop reminiscent of the artful and socially conscious neo soul of Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill. Nneka, who is also featured artist on BET’s Music Matters, will be playing at the network’s SXSW showcase on March 15.

Other performances for Nneka at SXSW include March 13th at Clive Bar for the Pandora/DMX Showcase, an Acoustic performance for Ben Sherman/Clash Music on March 16th, KUT Showcase on March 16th and the National Geographic Showcase at The Stage on Sixth on March 17th.
