Michael Jackson Doctor’s Trial Put On Hold

The involuntary manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, the doctor accused of giving Michael Jackson a lethal dose of the sedative propofol in 2009, has been put on hold today due to a death in the family of a witness for the prosecution.

According to Rolling Stone, Dr. Steven Shafer was set to testify today, and is likely to be the final witness called by the prosecution before they rest their case. Los Angeles Superior Court spokeswoman Mary Hearn told reporters that lawyers for both the defense and prosecution will be meeting with the judge to determine when the trial will resume.
