New Music: B. Dot “Salute Me” Ft. Arsonist & J. Konway

Philly’s own Brandon “Dot” Cromwell has dropped the first single “Salute Me,” from his forthcoming full-length AGL (Above Ground Level), set for release in November.

Featuring guest verses from Arsonist and J. Konway, “Salute Me” sounds like a “H.A.M.,” Lex-Luger style production, with ominous synthesizers, triumphant blasts of brassy horns and chimes and trunk-rattling bass, albeit with a bouncier, slightly more laid back feel than the all out sonic assault of the former track.

Lyrically Dot and his partners in rhyme channel the same chest-beating, alpha male posturing and rapid-fire delivery as Kanye and Jay, with the three rappers spitting lines like “This flight school/Who needs a tutor,” “Call me marathon J/’Cause I run this town,” and “Sick with the verses/Yeah it’s all purpose/Perfect, with its curses/But it’s worth it.”
