CSS’s Release New Album La Liberacion

Brazil-based quintet CSS have unleashed their new full length La Liberacion on the world. The new disc features rock luminaries like Ratatat, Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie and David Bowie collaborator Mark Garso.

The new album contains the group’s mix of reggae, party-ready dance pop and punk, as well as singer Lovefoxxx’s lyrics, which vacillate between the hedonistic and the personal, the latter sentiment cropping up on “City Grrl,” a classic outsider-in-a-small-town tale.

“I revisited my teenage years while living in the suburbs of my hometown,” Foxxx explains. ”I’d be on the floor of my bedroom making the most ridiculous clothes and glue fake colored hair or x-ray pictures on clothes. I’d be sporting goth make up at 8am and when I hit the streets people would curse me from their cars in the most aggressive way.  [Calling me] ‘drag queen’, ‘whore.’ “

CSS has been on the road since earlier this year, playing  co-headlining shows with Sleigh Bells and making an appearance at the Coachella festival. The band  will be hitting the road for another full-scale US tour beginning in October.
