Indies And The Underground

"Exposing New Music To The Blog-Reading Masses"

The Truth About Kevin

Kevin Clarkston - Creator of Indies and the Underground

Hi, my name is Kevin Clarkston. I’m a part-time freelance writer, blogger, and musician. I love music. Rap, hard rock, pop. dance, R&B, it doesn’t matter. I’ve been playing piano since I was nine, and also taught myself how to play guitar. I went to Northwestern State University where I graduated with a degree in journalism. While there I wrote for the school paper and worked as the music director for the campus radio station.

I currently work as a production tech at a television station in Alexandria, Louisiana, but writing about music and pop culture are my true passions. What I love most about pop music is how democratic it is. Two people might not be anything a like, but they can find common ground in a favorite song. I’ve done freelance work for sites like Suite101 and Metronome Review, I also maintain a music blog, Indies and The Underground, that profiles up and coming artists as well established acts that are creative and cutting edge. I also write album reviews, do artist interviews and post general music news.

I’m excited about joining up with The Truth About Music and sharing my opinions on music.

    Hey Kevin,
I emailed your “indies and the underground” account about the new tracks I have for my solo project, Poster Child. I was featured on your other blog a couple of months ago, hopefully i could get some exposure in your The Truth About Musci Blog.
I’m currently working on a full length album, set to be release this coming August entitled “Watchers”. It’s all focusing on thought provoking concepts about aliens/religion/government etc. Hope you dig the tunes and thanks for your time.
