Review: Twilight: Eclipse – The Soundtrack
Keegan Forte is blogger from New York City. On her Blog, Music Is My Forte, she writes about concerts and music industry happenings. You can follow her on Twitter at @keeganforte. There are three groups of people that exist when it comes to Twilight: Team Edward, Team Jacob and Team Who Gives A Shit. But a fourth party has quickly become a vital part of the scene and it’s of course, wait for it, Team I Love The Indie Music Soundtrack. Although I’m absolutely Team Edward (duh) and actually a fan of the movie, it’s really the music that has spiked my interest. The soundtracks for Twilight and Twilight: New Moon were great, the former being much better, but Eclipse trumps them both. Continue...

The Yellow Bird Project
Keegan Forte is blogger from New York City. On her Blog, Music Is My Forte, she writes about concerts and music industry happenings. You can follow her on Twitter at @keeganforte. We all love music and we all love fashion. Its when the two join forces that we lose our minds. The Yellow Bird Project does just that: “You can think of us as a tree of creativity, with branches joining together indie musicians, charitable organizations, and t-shirts with a fashionable punch. We’re a non-profit Montreal based organization dedicated to bringing our customers the finest of quality, originality, and philanthropy. We seek out only the coolest of cool artists, collaborate with them to design awesomely awesome tee-shirts, and give all the prettiest of pretty profits to charities of the artists’ choice.” This is a brilliantly brilliant idea. Ke$ha Provides The Performance Of The Weak
Keegan Forte is blogger from New York City. On her Blog, Music Is My Forte, she writes about concerts and music industry happenings. You can follow her on Twitter at @keeganforte. Up until this point I’ve put nothing but positivity forth in my writing. Today, that all changes. Don’t get me wrong, I get Ke$ha, I like Ke$ha (in moderation) and I absolutely see why she has such public appeal/industry appeal. BUT, what I didn’t get: her two performances on Saturday Night Live. I sat yesterday and watched with my stomach in knots and my eyes wide with severe secondary embarrassment. I had to repeat to myself over and over “Keegan, there is no reason for you to be this embarrassed, she has no clue who you are.” Yet, I couldn’t shake the feeling. Continue...

TAM Exclusive: Phoenix Performing “1901″ Live at SPIN Magazine’s 25th Anniversary Party
Glassnote Records was kind enough to invite my sister and I to SPIN Magazine’s 25th Anniversary party. Not only was it held on the rooftop of their offices but Phoenix performed a 4 song acoustic set … no big deal. Leading off with “Lizstomania” into “Armistice” followed by “Rome,” the french foursome topped it off with their unstoppable “1901.” A little rain never hurt nobody … as Glassnote staff ran to the instruments’ rescue with teeny umbrellas, the boys played on and the attendees barely even took notice as all eyes and ears were fixed on Phoenix. With the New York City skyline behind them, a roomful of music heads, magazine buffs, heavy drinkers and even a bull dog named Thompson, you couldn’t have painted a better picture as to what my heaven must be like. Some Fun Pre-Concert, Pre-Gaming Locations In Manhattan
Keegan Forte is blogger from New York City. On her Blog, Music Is My Forte, she writes about concerts and music industry happenings. You can follow her on Twitter at @keeganforte. Concert going should never be a stressful task. Actually, it shouldn’t be a task at all. It should be an experience that not only brushes any stress off your shoulders, but one that transports you to your own world where song after song makes you smile and sway. Of course, meeting up with your concert companions beforehand is a given, whether it for a sit down dinner or to get in as many cheap beers as possible before venues empty out your bank accounts for the smallest vodka soda in America. This decision is an important one, as it will set the tone for a frank free evening. Continue...

Mashup Madness
Keegan Forte is blogger from New York City. On her Blog, Music Is My Forte, she writes about concerts and music industry happenings. You can follow her on Twitter at @keeganforte. Yes, I’m word playing on “March Madness,” but can you blame me? With all the recent hype over “mash-ups” in the music world, they’re just as exciting as picking the winning college basketball team and rolling in the dough (oh, and gloating to your co-workers)! Mash-ups come in all shapes and sizes. Some are awesome, some are not so awesome and some make you wonder why a person thinks they’re awesome enough to mix together such peculiarly paired songs. The Truth About Keegan
I’ll put it simply for you; music is my life. You won’t find me “slappin’ da bass” or shredding up the guitar, and you would most likely confuse my voice with a metal fork being dragged across a chalkboard … but there is no rule that says you must play an instrument to be passionate about music. However, without those people my infatuation for music as well as music itself, would be non-existent. Just so we’re clear, I’m not here to tell you what music you should like but I am here to tell you what music you might like.
