Pictures from Fall Out Boy, All Time Low, Metro Station, Cobra Starship and Hey Monday
After some major difficulties importing the more than 1200 pictures taken last night at The Mohegan Sun Arena, the pictures are finally ready. We took so many photo’s of the amazing bands. Hope everyone enjoyed the show, look for the review later in the week and leave some comments below if you see yourself, or if you just want to share your experiences. Continue...

The Songs in my Head: Boom Boom Pow
It didn’t hit me until tonight. Standing inside the Mohegan Sun Arena waiting for the arrival of Fall Out Boy to the stage the speakers started pumping the brand new Black Eyed Peas song. I guess there’s something about hearing it in an arena, through thousands of watts that makes you really hear a song. It is great to see this band back together and I hope the rest of the upcoming album is as good as this song. If you have some time I definitely recommend checking this song out, you won’t be disappointed. Check out this youtube video featuring “Boom Boom Pow,” by the Black Eyed Peas Continue...

Really Funny Joke, Nothing to Do with Music
This has nothing to do with music in any way, but it is too funny not to share with everyone. I have no idea who wrote this but that person is simply genius. Check it out, let me know what you think. Dear Red States If you manage to steal this election too we’ve decided we’re leaving. We intend to form our own country, and we’re taking the other Blue States with us. In case you aren’t aware, that includes California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota,Wisconsin,Michigan, Illinois and all the Northeast. We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation, and especially to the people of the new country of New California. To sum up briefly: You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states. We get stem cell research and the best beaches. We get the Statue of Liberty. You get Dollywood. We get Intel and Microsoft. You get [...] Continue...

The Songs in my Head: 1980
When I think of the word rehab in a musical context only one person comes to mind. Amy Whinehouse has been in and out of rehab for years and her first hit single shared this title. When I heard that the extremely catchy song titled “1980″ was by a band named Rehab, I was in shock. The truth is, “1980,” by the hip hop fusion group Rehab is a fantastic song that has a chorus hook that cannot be missed. “I told her yo listen up cuz I love you lady we go back like 1980, lord knows your the one to change me you love me cuz im so crazy, you’ll see it will be you and me always always.” Although the song comes from a deeper place than the hook ridden chorus will suggest, this song is all over radio and clubs at the same time. People seem [...] Continue...

Indie Is Not A Real Genre!!
Here it is, I’m going to say it once and for all; Indie Is Not A Real Genre!! I know many of you might be saying, why Harris, why isn’t it a real genre or why don’t you have any respect for the music these musicians create? The point is I do care, I just have no respect for the “indie” label (from now on “indie” will be in quotes because for the purposes of this article “indie” is a figment of all of our imaginations). People have tried to explain to me the label in three different ways and they are as follows: A person performing independently, without a record label (i.e. unsigned “independent” of a label) A genre of music, the genre has no specific sound but includes (but is not limited to) rock, pop, country, electronic, hip hop, jazz, bluegrass, rock, heavy metal, screamo, emo and techno An attitude [...] Continue...

The Songs in my Head: N.E.R.D.
After listening to an amazing show by N.E.R.D. I cannot stop listening to these guys. Although I was not such a big fan before the show, like so many other great live acts, their live show really sells their albums. An incredible party in Connecticut will surely lead to some great album sales for this group. Although they have not produced a lot of new material as of late, I hope that they continue to perform live and spread the word, live music is not, and will never die! Check out this video for the song “Rockstar” on Youtube Continue...

The Songs in my Head: New Found Glory
New Found Glory’s latest album, “Not Without A Fight,” came out a few weeks ago with very little buzz. The shining crown on this album is the first single, “Listen To Your Friends,” which is a really old school sounding song by the veteran pop rock band. Although there are a couple of other good tracks on the album, nothing else really blew me away. Give this track a listen and let me know if you dig it. Check out New Found Glory’s “Listen To You Friends,” on Youtube Continue...

The Lyrics in my Head: Weightless
All Time Low, described many times over by me as one of the greatest live bands in the pop world. They put on a fantastic show and I am really looking forward to seeing them in a few days with Fall Out Boy at Mohegan Sun, in Connecticut. Although their new album is not quite out yet, the first single is out and I really enjoy it. The chorus sings: And maybe it’s not my weekend, but it’s gonna be my year, and i’m so sick of watching while the minutes pass as i go nowhere, and this is my reaction to everything i fear, cause i’ve been going crazy i don’t wanna waste another minute here.” I really enjoyed this song because it showcased a band that not only can perform right up there with any other act, but can also write some really great music, and are just [...] Continue...

Largest Rock Bands in the United States
The other day after posting an article about Green Day and The Offspring I realized that I have never clarified something for myself and my readers. I was reminded by Life Through My Eyes that Green Day is in fact not the largest rock band in America. What I was trying to say is that Green Day is the largest current rock band in America. Of course this will cause some controversy but when I refer to a current rock band I simply mean that they are still gaining new fans on an everyday basis. Bands that I leave out of this mix are large scale touring acts that are still riding the wave from their many years of success. Nothing taken away from bands like Bruce Springsteen and AC/DC but there aren’t a lot of people these days sitting down and listening to them for the first time. Simply [...] Continue...
