Harris’ Song of the Week: Merry Happy by Kate Nash

Ok, I know. I’ve been listening to way to much girl singing, pop playing bands. I just can’t get enough of them right now. This weeks song of the week is one that I just can’t stop playing. Its a delightful blend of piano and drums. There is very little in this song besides those two instruments and of course the lovely vocal stylings of Kate Nash. This british singer/songwriter has been on a role ever since coming to the United States and is now getting a lot of recognition in the same way Lily Allen and Amy Whinehouse did before her. One thing that is immediately apparent in this song is her british accent. I think it sounds amazing. Many singers sing in a different tone than what they speak in. Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day sounds british when he sings and Coldplays songs sound surprisingly american. She [...] Continue...
